In November 2019 the Symposium “Why So Many Ways to Die? Apoptosis, Necroptosis, Pyroptosis and Beyond“ held in Guarujá/São Paulo-Brazil was organized by Karina R. Bortoluci, Andreas E. Strasser and Vishva M. Dixit. The symposium was supported by Keystone Symposia on Molecular and Cellular Biology, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo (FAPESP), and Genentech. The conference addressed the latest findings on mechanisms and processes of Cell Death. Altogether, top scientists in the field discussed the recent outcomes about cell death on cancer, inflammation and infectious diseases.
